Miss Bennet has been acting as the guardian of her daughter since the latter's birth and it is here that she learns that her beloved Mr. Darcy is actually a descendant of the deceased Princess Charlotte. The secret, she discovers eventually sets off a storm among the community in which they live and it is here that the author, John Irving, shows his unique ability to make readers relate to the characters he has created. Although Pride and Prejudice are not about love but rather about the struggle for recognition and success, its author can easily connect to a wide range of readers through his writing skills.This essay will examine the essay topics that set the novel apart from other works that have been written on the same subject.
